Fall Registration & Game Schedule

  • 8/13/06 Online registration open
  • 8/19/06 Pat Coughlin will be contacting Wal-Mart regarding having LCIHA tables at both sites on this day, manned by volunteer adults/kids to hand out flyers and sign-up new players
  • 8/26/06 Open registration at Meerscheidt from 09:00-16:00
  • 8/31/06 Team formation & Coaches Meeting
  • 9/9/06 Start of season games with last game on 11/18/06
  • 12/2/06 Start play-off games
  • Coaches may start practice games as soon as USAHI fee’s paid
  • 9/30/06 date by which all registration forms must be completed
  • The league will look into starting the enrichment program again during the 2nd 10 week session during the Fall season. Hillrise Elementary and another location will be likely candidates for a hockey enrichment class. Volunteers are needed.

 

Team Formation & Coaches Meeting

  • A motion to have 100% draft for team formation was unanimously approved by the Board. Details regarding exceptions will be presented in the Bylaws, as for example retaining the right of a coach to have his/her child on the team.
  •  Discussion was held on the age group divisions but not voted upon. It was agreed on to wait until registrations were in and number of players in each age group determined.
  • Adult games will be held Mon-Fri 20:00-21:00 and 21:00-22:00

 

Sportsmanship training and PAYS

  • Discussion was held on the ways to accomplish attendance and adherence to the requirements of both. An online presentation is available for those in the membership who wish to utilize this. Members of the officiating staff will attend the coaches meeting on 8/31/06 to discuss this further.
  • Pat Coughlin will contact Robert Nunez with City of Las Cruces regarding PAYS

 

Equipment Needs

·        Pat Coughlin will go through equipment currently stored at the rink and determine needs. A budget of no more than $500.00 was voted on and approved by the Board to cover cost of equipment. Another $500.00 was approved for the cost of Goalie sticks and equipment.

 

League Phone

·        A cell phone was donated to the league by Nancy Peckham. It will be used as contact number for the public regarding question about LCIHA. The number is: 636-8105. Minutes will be purchased and refilled as needed with LCIHA funds.

 

Referee’ issues

·        Ray Meyers will work on a presentation for the coaches meeting. This will address developing a formal procedure for handling complaints, coaches handling player complaints and conduct, and how to address spectator conduct for example

 

Bylaw’s Review

·        LCIHA Bylaws will be reviewed and updated by Cindy Clark, Derrik Wootton and Ray Meyers. A draft will be presented by 8/20/06.

 

Membership Meeting

·        Meeting will be held by mid-October
