Meeting started at 6:30 pm

New Boards

  • Nets have been secured around the perimeter
  • On Sunday, the Boards and Nets on SOUTH side blew down on Sunday
  • Dennis Downey was at the slab when this happened, the wind bent some of the boards
  • ALL PLAY IS SUSPENDED UNTIL BOARDS ARE SECURED BETTER
  • The city has finalized the purchase of these boards from the county for $23, 370+

Coaches Manual

  • Pat Coughlin at the request of the BOD has put together 2 PowerPoint presentations for coaches.  This draft has been distributed to all BOD members for comment.  Feedback from board members present is that the presentations are outstanding.  Thanks PAT!

Equipment

·         Chris will purchase all Goalie Gear (cost within reason)

·         2 complete senior goalie gear sets, and 2 complete junior goalie gear sets as well as 2 additional senior blockers and gloves and 2 additional junior blockers and gloves will be purchased.

·         Emma will buy up to $500 of individual player sets of gear .

·         Chris has already spent $90 on player gloves.

·         Purchase on 2 shop vacs and a leaf blower has been put on hold (the $$ has already been approved by the BOD through emails)

·         Emma will purchase new Jerseys as follows: 5 Large and 5 XL (adult sizes) in 2 colors, 3 youth read, and 3 youth blue.  The youth jerseys will have numbering starting at 20.

Referee Clinic

  • Chris Christeson will be holding a referee clinic at the slab on Saturday, August 27 between 9-11AM.  He will contact all players who have requested to be referees this 2005-2006 season.

Puck or Ball?

  • Fall 2005 play for all divisions will be conducted with a ball.  This issue will be revisited in the Spring once players get used to the new boards.
  • For the record, JP wants the league to go puck

Team Formation

  • LCIHA will stay with the current division setup – U10/U12/U14/U17/O17/O30/O17w
  • Both U10 and U12 will “throw sticks” rather than separate into permanent teams.
  • Each player requesting to playup into the next age division required a vote.
  • U12 playup vote:Bridger Johnson, Annalisa Clark, Teresa Kellner, Mark Ricketts, Jason Jacobs – passed
  • U14 playup vote: Ben Broyles, Andy Chamberlin, Ian Christeson, Lee Harkey – passed.  Jordon Pruett is a new player to LCIHA, Chris Christeson will evaluate his skills and report back to the board.
  • U17 playup vote: Dale Peckham, Nick Howie, Sonya Acosta, Andrew Armijo, Gordon Rickets – passed
  • O17w division will player at 5:00pm on Saturdays
  • All teams will continue to use the same practice schedule as Spring 2005
