Summer 2002 LCIHA Team Rosters (second half)

Due to the number of players who have signed up along the way, we are modifying things for the second half of the season.  At this point, it is going to be difficult for anyone to catch Team B,  the winner of the first half.  We are also modifying the rules a bit based on what we have learned.

Rules & Handicaps:

Games start at 6 PM.
Line 1 plays against  Line 1; Line 2 plays against Line 2.
Line changes take place at the first stoppage of play after a line is on-court for three minutes.
Players who can play on both lines are marked with a #
Possession of a ball leaving the playing surface will go to the team who did not touch it last.  In cases where it is not obvious (such as a clash of sticks on the ball),  possession will go to the team defending the zone from which the ball left the surface.
The initial game possession goes to the first team listed in the schedule (below).  Teams initiating possession will start with the ball behind their goal line. The defending team must be in their zone.  Once the attacking team moves the ball across the goal line, teams may enter the opposition team's zone.
Games will be played to 12 goals.  A ten minute halftime occurs when one team reaches 6.  Teams should change zones for the start of the second half.  If a game has not been decided by 7:30 PM, teams will alternate penalty shots until one team has reached 12 points or until the team with the fewer players has completed their rotation two times.  The youngest player present on each team decides the order of the shooters.
Games will be self administered.  Adult and experienced players will assure that a high level of sportsmanship is maintained among all of the players.  Experienced players are asked to show a high level of patience with the younger and novice players while they learn the game.  Use educational opportunities to assist these players in learning to help prepare them to be competitive in the Fall season.  Most of all, have fun and work to be sure nobody gets hurt.
Parents on the bleachers, don't be afraid to get involved.  Little things you can do to help that would be greatly appreciated: (1) operate the scoreboard, (2) time the three minute line changes, (3) continue instilling the concept of good sportsmanship, and  (4) assure your child uses proper protective equipment (at minimum helmet with cage, gloves, elbow pads, shin pads, and mouthguard, no exceptions).

Primary team goalies are designated with a (G).  If a designated goalie cannot make the game, the team lacking the goalie can either (i) suit up another one of their players to play goalie, or they may install two "snipe" targets on their goal in opposite corners (top shelf one side, a ball's height above the ground on the other side) .  Teams playing with the targets instead of a goal tender may not stand in the crease to block a shot unless the opposing player is within a stick's reach of the goal box.

Games will be played to 15 goals.  A ten minute halftime occurs when one team reaches 7.  Teams should change zones for the start of the second half.  If a game has not been decided by 7:20 PM, teams will alternate penalty shots until one team has reached 15 points.  The youngest player present on each team will decide the order of the shooters.  If a shooter is older than the goalie they are shooting on, they must hold the stick backwards (lefties shoot right; righties shoot left).
